<div> </div>Awka- THREE persons were feared dead and about twenty others wounded on Sunday when members of a new pro- Biafra group, the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB) and security operatives engaged in a shootout in Onitsha.It was not clear what caused the trouble, but one of the injured persons, Mr. Chinwendu Ikechukwu said the group was carrying out an evangelism programme on the need for people to embrace Biafra Republic in parts of Nkpor , Idemili North local government area after their routine meeting, adding that it was while they were on the street that security operatives opened fire on them.He said: "On reaching Okpoko junction, we were accosted by a detachment of policemen who fired tear gas on our members numbering about 5000, but they later allowed us to go since we were non violent."However, on reaching Uga junction close to the Niger Bridge Head, the Naval men on duty there opened fire on us. In our defenseless state, three of our members were shot dead, while about twenty others sustained injuries. Even the police who initially allowed us to go later joined in shooting our members."According to him, the injured persons were initially rushed to the nearby Paragon Hospital, Fegge before they were distributed to other hospitals.The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Okechukwu Ali however denied the involvement of police in the shooting, adding that the police were in a 'Show of Force' operation in Onitsha as at the time of the incident."We never shot at the group, even though the law of the land has outlawed all pro -Biafran groups," he said.<div>Also, a naval officer who refused to give his name said the group was lying, insisting that nobody died. According to him, "if they claim that three of their members died, they should provide their bodies.</div><div>man*</div>

 Mexican striker completed a medical on Monday.
 Hernandez, 27, has struggled for game time at
 United and spent last season on loan at Real
 Madrid, with Los Blancos opting not to make the
 move permanent despite a late return to form.
 But the Mexico international has been given an
 opportunity by Leverkusen, who had money to
 spend following the sale of Son Heung-Min to
 Tottenham last week.
 Agent Eduardo Hernandez told ESPN Mexico:
 "Javier did the examinations today. He already
 passed them. He is now a Bayer Leverkusen
 player."
 Hernandez -- believed to be costing Leverkusen
 around €12 million -- told Sky Sport Deutschland
 that he is "very happy" before undergoing his
 assessment in Germany.

 Hernandez has been limited to just three brief
 appearances as a substitute by United in the

 And the striker, who failed to convert a penalty

 squad for Sunday's 2-1 loss to Swansea.

"I would like to assure the parents who have lost their loved ones that the nation will support them through and through," the monarch, speaking on the sidelines of a trade fair in Manzini, said. "Also those in hospitals, should the need arise for further treatment they will be taken to other hospitals to ensure no further loss of life." Police confirmed there had been "fatalities" but declined to specify the toll, with police spokesman Khulekani Mamba saying: "We won't be giving out any information because the maidens were on royal duty, so there are certain protocols to be followed before such information can be divulged to the public." Local media gave varying tolls, with government newspaper The Observer reporting hundreds of injuries and the Swazi News saying seven people had been killed, six of them girls. News of the accident has not been broadcast on public television and journalists were blocked from photographing the crash scene, a local journalist said. Mswati III has ruled Swaziland as an absolute monarch since his father's death in 1982.

Woman robs 3 banks for daughter's Party

An accused robber told a court she held up three
 banks in May to raise money for her daughter's
 graduation party.
 Cindy Sanchez Carabeo, 50, of Brandon, Florida,
 pleaded guity in federal court on Thursday to one
 count of interfering with interstate commerce by
 robbery.Carabeo told a judge she robbed the
 banks to pay for a graduation party for her
 daughter and to cover her rent. She faces up to
 20 years in prison.
 Police arrested Carabeo in May after she stole
 $6,000 from a BB&T Bank, a Wells Fargo and
 Florida Central Credit Union in Brandon in less
 than the time it takes to deliver a pizza.
 However, investigators nabbed her even faster,
 according to Larry McKinnon of the Hillsborough
 County Sheriff's Office.
 "By the time she made it home after that third
 robbery, within 15 minutes we had her in
 custody and all three bank managers were able
 to positively identify her," McKinnon said.
 Authorities said McKinnon threatened to kill one
 teller but wrote "Happy Mother's Day" on the
 hold-up note.

Arik Air Staff confess to how they smuggle cocaine aboard flight.

<div> </div><div>A staff of Arik Air has told the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency investigators how members of staff of the airline smuggle illicit drugs aboard flights. Oliver Chibuzor, a catering loader at the airline who has been arrested by NDLEA officials, said they subvert airport security checks by concealing cocaine in catering supplies.On Monday, Chika Udensi(above), a senior member of the Arik Air cabin crew‎, was arrested by UK Border Force officials with 20 kilogrammes of cocaine at Heathrow Airport in London.Mr. Udensi, an air steward, allegedly concealed the cocaine which has an estimated street value of N100 million, within the "construction of‎ laptop bags," according to the NDLEA.‎In a statement on Thursday, the NDLEA quoted Mr. Chibuzor as telling narcotic investigators that he was introduced into the illicit drug business by Mr. Udensi."Whenever Chika gives me the drug, I will hide it in catering supplies. Chika knows where to collect the drug inside the flight," ‎the agency quoted Mr. Chibuzor as stating during interrogation by investigators."They pay me N400, 000 per bag. I was expecting N1.2 million for the three bags that I smuggled into the aircraft," he said.The anti-narcotics agency said that preliminary investigation revealed that both Messrs Udensi and Chibuzor had been infiltrated by a suspected drug cartel. Mr. Chibuzor, who hails from Isiala Ngwa North local government of Abia State, is a graduate of Business Administration and was employed by Arik Air in 2009, according to the NDLEA.‎Ahmadu Giade, NDLEA's Chairman, said he had directed that henceforth all airport workers must be extensively searched."The agency has taken drastic measures to avert infiltration of airport workers by criminal syndicates," Mr. Giade said."Airline officials and airport workers shall be subjected to comprehensive search. The NDLEA will resist any act capable of undermining security at all entry and exit points," he said.Mr. Giade also said that‎ all catering trucks, luggage trucks, aviation fuel tankers, machines and personnel whose duty directly or indirectly relates to tarmac and flight operations would be subjected to full screening.As part of its investigation, the NDLEA said its operatives had searched ‎the rented apartment of Mr. Udensi in Ejigbo, a Lagos suburb, where he lives with his mother and siblings. His wife and children are based in Canada.The NDLEA also said that Mr. Udensi's Range Rover car‎, which had been impounded and was parked at the airline's premises, had been moved to the agency's office as exhibit.</div><div> </div><div>man*</div>

 Today we lost a very precious soul. Esther Ngobor. Esther started working with us almost 7years ago. She was a wonderful nanny to our son from when he was 3 months old. She was diagnosed with Cervical Cancer 5 years ago and she fought tirelessly to stay alive. 
 
 When she was diagnosed, she was told she had a few months to live but she fought hard.Words cannot describe how incredible she was as an employee, sister and friend. 
 
 My children loved her, we all loved her. Her smile and laughter would light up a room in a second. She was clever,witty and dedicated. She was most importantly God fearing and honest. 
 
 Her biggest fear was dying. Oh Esther, I am so sorry. We tried everything within our power to give her the quality of life she deserved. We tried every possible treatment available but God knows best and we cannot question Him.
 
 I want to thank all my friends and family who touched her life no matter how small. Your prayers, love and donations will not be forgotten. God bless you. Esther was in so much pain but she never gave up. 
 
 This is a very sad day for us. We will miss you so much Esther. May your gentle Soul Rest in perfect Peace. Ladies please get your pap smear test done once a year. If you have never gotten one done, please get one done now. Cancer knows no gender, race, social class or nothing.
 May her soul rest in the bosom of the good Lord.

Manchester City maintained their 100 percent start to the season as they beat Everton 2-0 at Goodison Park. City started very brightly with striker Aguero causing Everton's defence problems only for the Argentina international to twice be denied by goalkeeper Tim Howard. In Sunday's other Premier League match, Watford and Southampton played out a goalless draw at Vicarage Road. "He is running now on the pitch but he shall not be fit enough. [He will come back] after the international break, I hope, because it's also a process. I am saying too much now." United are yet to sign a centre-back this summer but Van Gaal, who had a bid for Real Madrid's Sergio Ramos rejected, is adamant he has a balanced squad with two players in every position. When fit, Jones will be an alternative to Chris Smalling while Marcos Rojo and Daley Blind are two left-footers who can play in the centre of defence. "You can see my selection and you can see that for every position a double, so we don't have to change but when we can improve we shall do that, but our way," he added. United have only conceded one goal in their first three games of the season and Van Gaal believes they have proved their critics wrong. "You are writing: 'You have no defence, you are not good enough,'" he said. Van Gaal has been particularly happy with Smalling, explaining: "He makes steps, I have to admit. I can see it and you can see it. That's fantastic." But he believes the England international can improve when bringing the ball out of defence, saying: "He could do better. For a manager you always want more, but he makes steps in that, particularly in that aspect of football because in defending, he was always the best."

 Pep Guardiola says Bayern Munich can expect
 great things from Douglas Costa after the
 winger's bright start to life at the Bundesliga
 champions.
 The Bavarian side started their league
 campaign with a 5-0 win over Hamburg, with
 the Brazilian attacker the star of the show as
 he scored one and set up another in Franck
 Ribery's absence.
 Costa signed for Bayern this summer from
 Shakhtar Donetsk for €30 million and
 Guardiola insists there is much more to come
 from him.
 
 "This is just the beginning," the Spaniard told
 reporters. "So far Costa has done well.
 However, we did not sign him just for one
 week, but for four years."
 The former Barcelona coach also discussed
 Dante, who was left out of last week's squad
 and youngsters Gaudino, Sinan Kurt and
 Julian Green, who remain in the reserves.
 "All the players want to play, but I have to
 take the decisions to not let them play. That is
 my only problem.
 "Young players have to play. It is not good if
 they just training with the senior team. They
 will train with us if we need them. Otherwise
 they have to be with the reserves. For now I
 think they are in the right place."
 Guardiola faced criticism from Ottmar Hitzfeld,
 who said Bayern are lacking a "German
 mentality", a point that does not bother the
 
 current coach.
 "I don't have a German mentality," he added.
 "I am Catalan. But I will do my best for this
 
 club to win the treble like Jupp Heynckes did.
 "When Hitzfeld won it, there were four
 German players on the pitch at the
 Champions League final. Today we have more
 German internationals here."

 Real Madrid defender Pepe has committed
 himself to the club by signing a contract that
 will expire in 2017.
 The Portugal international had entered the final
 year of his deal and, after Sergio Ramos
 penned an extension earlier this week, the club
 have moved to tie down another long-term
 servant.
 Pepe, who joined the Santiago Bernabeu side
 from Porto in 2007, remains a key part of the
 side, having featured in 27 Liga games last
 term.
 The 32-year-old has won two league and Copa
 del Rey titles, and he has lifted the Champions
 League once with the Santiago Bernabeu club.

 This was revealed by Lt.-Col. Ado Isa, Media Coordinator of JTF, in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State. He said the raids were conducted within 10 days.
 
 Isa said that troops deployed to 
 Oka pipeline in Ikpoba Okha Local Government Area of Edo impounded an illegal oil bunkering truck with registration number EDO BEN 117 ZN.
 
 He said that the truck loaded with 16 plastic tanks of 1500 litres capacity was siphoning illegally refined Automotive Gas Oil (AGO) at the time of arrest.
 
 The JTF spokesman said the products estimated to be about 24,000 litres were suspected to have been illegally siphoned from the NNPC pipeline.
 
 He added that some of the vandals fled prior to the arrival of the troops while the truck was in the custody of the JTF for further investigation.
 
 He said some of the arrested were made at Ughelli-Warri and Orerokpe Community in Okpe and Ughelli North Local Government Areas of Delta.

 Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has declared that he will try his best to destroy the legacies of the man he took over from, Dr. Kayode Fayemi.
 
 "One bad news that we must, however, tell Fayemi is that we won't only destroy his legacy of bad governance and betrayal in Ekiti, we will also make sure that economic devourers like him will never taste power in the state."
 
 Fayose, in a statement by his Special Assistant on Public Communications and New Media, Lere Olayinka, said that he would destroy Fayemi's negative legacies including the N86bn debt Fayemi left behind as well as months of unpaid civil servants' salaries.
 
 The governor said this while reacting to Fayemi's interview in which the former governor said: 
 
 "Fayose is destroying my legacies."

 has really gone bad, as some students now use
 this medium to perpetrate evil on this graduating
 ones..
 Last year we recall a case of a student of imsu
 been bathed with acid and another similar case in
 Lasu and Uniben...
 As the Imo State University Owerri prepares to
 round up her second semester exams come next
 week.. The school authorities has dished out a
 note of warning to everyone it may consign, as
 seen below:

 management after a meeting with the

 graduating student was poured Acid due to the
 pouring of water and the student died..Still that
 last year another students fells into a pit and died
 immediately due to the same pouring of water
 after final exams....
