Disturbing stories from Cross River North, has broken out about an incident involving the state chairman of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and a relative simply known as Emma who hails from same community with him in Obudu.
According to Emma who manages Vena's farm in Obudu, trouble ensued when he sold harvested Yams on the instructions of the Farm Owner(Vena), transferred the proceeds to him with N1000 Naira shortage which he said he withheld for his upkeep.
The visibly traumatised Emma, narrated how events unfolded afterwards;
"After i sent the money realised from sales, it was short of N1000, which i explained to him that i had pressing need which i used it for"
"The next thing that happened was arrival of some police officers in his orders to arrest me, i was thereafter taken to Obanliku Police station where i was detained and i was told that the Chairman had directed them to detain me until i return a Keke that was given to me by Sen. Jarigbe through Vena"
"I had to make calls for the keke to be brought to the station before i was released on bail"
All efforts to reach Vena so far has proved abortive.
