President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday picked holes in the results of 
the March 28 presidential election, saying “the PDP couldn’t have got 
those kinds of scores” it had in some places.<br />
<br />
But is it right for the APC to get the kind of scores it got in Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo, etc?<br />
<br />
Jonathan spoke shortly after receiving the report of the Ahmadu Ali-led committee in Aso Rock, Abuja.<br />

“Yes, I did not consult anybody before I made that phone call (to 
Buhari) but I made that phone call on behalf of all of you and on behalf
 of the PDP."</blockquote>

He added that apart from himself that quickly conceded defeat to 
Muhammadu Buhari, many PDP members also made sacrifices because they 
were persecuted in the course of electioneering.<br />

The President said, “The problem is not whether we lost the elections, 
that is history, but how do we consolidate our party and move forward? 
If we are committed and we work hard, definitely the PDP will bounce 
back.<br />
<br />
“The PDP is still the dominant party. If you look at the results, the 
difference is just 2.5 million votes and if you look at the areas where 
it is perceived that the PDP scored so low, the PDP couldn’t have got 
those kinds of scores but the elections are over, so the country first.<br />
<br />
“It is not as if Jonathan alone made the sacrifice, it is all of us. I 
made the pronouncement but some of us are paying the price.<br />
<br />
“Some people pay more price than I do, I know how some of you are already being persecuted and the kind of situation facing you.<br />
<br />
“The key thing is that we must continue to unite, as a party; we must 
continue to work hard so that as we go into subsequent elections in 
2019, 2023 and so on and so forth, the PDP will continue to come up 
strong. Even in the interest of the nation, we need the PDP.<br />
<br />
“I still believe, though we have lost presidential election, some 
National Assembly elections, governorship elections especially in the 
North, the PDP is still the dominant party.<br />
<br />
"Let us not judge the PDP by the results of the elections for the presidential election."</div>

An unidentified man was found dead in an uncompleted building located in
 Sefu Elelede street in the Ibafo area of Ogun State. He is suspected to
 have committed suicide.<br />
<br />
According to <a href="http://www.punchng.com/">Punch</a>, the young man 
was found dead in the living room section of the building by an 
electrician who had come to carry out some work in the building. The 
electrician immediately raised an alarm and contacted the woman who 
owned the building. The landlady immediately contacted the Ibafo Police 
Division who drafted a team of police men and a medical doctor to the 
scene.<br />
<br />
<a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a>Narrating what happened, the landlady said;<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
"On Wednesday, I called John to inspect my structure and give me the 
estimate on electrification work of the house. I gave him the key to the
 compound. The building is fenced and it is a storey building. To my 
surprise, he ran back after some minutes, gasping for breath. He told me
 that a young man had hanged himself inside the uncompleted house. We 
both went there together and found the man. Then, I went to the police 
to make a report and they also visited the place. I have never seen such
 a horrible thing in my life."</blockquote>
Meanwhile the corpse of the deceased has been deposited in the mortuary.<a href="https://draft.blogger.com/null" name="more"></a><span class="post-author vcard"></span></div>

Members of the Depot and Petroleum Products Marketers Association DAPPMA
 say the strike action they are currently embarking on will continue 
despite claims by the Federal Government that N156bn was released 
yesterday to offset some debts owed them and end the persisting fuel 
scarcity.<br />

In an interview with <a href="http://www.premiumtimesng.com/business/182310-fuel-crisis-marketers-deny-receiving-payment-from-govt-say-strike-continues.html">Premium Times</a>,
 the Executive Secretary of DAPPMA, Odufemi Adewole said that non of 
their members in the Major Oil Marketers Association (MOMAN), have 
received the monies supposedly released yesterday and that until the 
money hits the accounts of all its members, they will not call off the 
strike.<br />

“The money government said it was paying to marketers has not yet hit 
our accounts. So, there is little we can do about the situation. The 
money the Minister of Finance promised to pay us last February did not

But, the truth is that nobody is going to call off the strike till the 
money is paid,” he said.</blockquote>

Minister of Finance Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala yesterday disclosed that she 
was diagnosed with cancer some years back and had her last surgery for 
it 15 years ago.<br />
<br />
Mrs Okonjo-Iweala spoke about her experience at the Service of Songs for
 late  Special Adviser to the President on Research and Documentation, 
Oronto Douglas yesterday April 30th. According to the Minister, she 
constantly used her experience to encourage Oronto during his battle 
with the disease which led to his death on April 9th.<br />

"Oronto and I had two similarities in life, we both had cancer. I had my

The Lagos state Police command is currently investigating the 
mystery surrounding the murder of an unidentified sportsman said to be 
jogging in the Morogbo area of Badagry in Lagos state on February 26th 
2015. According to <a href="http://www.punchng.com/">Punch</a>, Police reports states that the man's corpse 
was dumped by a bush near Igborosun village after he was stabbed in the 
stomach and jaw by his murderer/s. </div>
The incident was 
brought to the notice of the police by a resident of the area, Pastor 
Stephen Hensu of the Celestial Church of Christ, Okiki Imole branch, 
Badagry. </div>

February 26, 2015 around 9am, I left my church for a meeting of the

that some people coming from Igborosun village saw a corpse in a bush in

He returned home and alerted the police of the 
development. <br />

 at the corpse shows that the man was a sportsman and he was out jogging
 that morning when he was attacked and killed. He was killed and his

forward to identify him, which will help us in investigations.”he said</blockquote>

Parents of the missing Chibok girls are now accusing the vice principal 
(academic) of the school in Borno where the teenage girls were kidnapped
 in 2014 of being somewhat involved in their kidnap<br />

 the parents claimed that the role of the vice principal Yerima Banjiri 
was questionable. They leveled the allegations while speaking to a SR

One of the abducted girls mother, Mariam Abubakar, said the Vice 
Principal had told the school girls that any one of them who failed to 
sleep in the school the night of the abduction would be expelled<br />

“A week before their abductions, Malam Yerima threatened the students 
not to leave for their various homes. He said that whoever went home 
should forget she was ever a student at the school. He told the girls 
that none of them should go home, that they must sleep in the school. 
However, none of the teachers’ daughters or even the daughters of the 
management staff was among those kidnapped. Only the children of we poor
 people were asked to sleep in the school. The [teachers and 
administrators] had kept their children in safer places before Boko 
Haram arrived.”

The distraught mother accused the vice president and possibly other 
staff of conniving with Boko Haram. </blockquote>

“Our concern is that since the day of [the girls’] abduction, we have 
never set our eyes on Malam Yerima. He is on run,” Ms Abubakar said.

A father of an abducted girl also criticized what he characterized as 
the Federal Government’s approach of levity in dealing with the 
abduction, said;<br />
<blockquote class="tr_bq">
“We have lost confidence in the Nigerian government’s, reaction to our 
missing children. Nobody asked any questions to the teachers. In fact 
they are moving free in cities. Why has the government not investigated 
any of the teachers‎?” he asked.</blockquote>
One of the parents told SaharaReporters that they had been warned not to
 speak about their suspicion of the vice principal and other teachers 
and administrators. But several of the parents and relatives of the 
abducted girls said they had run out of patience after more than a year 
since the abductions with little or no hope of their daughters’ rescue.<br />
