According to Dutch publication, Manchester united have review their intension of signing de Vrij as an ideal alternative to Real Madrid star Sergio Ramos who may be set to stay at Madrid.
The impressive Dutchman would cost somewhere in the region of £18.3m – significantly less than Ramos.
However Louis van Gaal will have his work cut-out to lure de Vrij to Old Trafford after he reiterated his desire to remain with Lazio.
