The president has been on numerous occasions criticized over his failure to announce the cabinet. Following months of allegations and suggestions, Buhari seems to have confirmed to the international community his vow to finally come up with the highly-anticipated appointments soon.He said at the Monday conference:"After I was sworn-in, I said I will have my cabinet in September. I expect that Nigerians should ask me questions after the 30th of September if I do not do so."Regarding the ongoing anti-Boko Haram offensive, carried out by the Multi-National Joint Task Force, Buhari spoke about the noticeable progress in the development."The first thing I did after I came into office was to reorganize the military and clear orders were given to them in terms of retraining, re-equipping and redeployment of troops."In the northeast, the military is gaining ground and Boko Haram has been limited to the Sambisa Forest."Internally Displaced Persons are gradually moving back home and they are being reintegrated into their respective communities."President Buhari also commented on the issue of assets declaration. Officials of Ministry of Justice were brought and every individual was made to declare his assets."All heads of states and government, governors, ministers, permanent secretaries have to declare their assets because it is a constitutional requirement."I have declared my assets four times. When I was governor in 1975, I declared. After being minister of petroleum and as a member of Supreme Military Council, I declared. When I was a head of state and now as a president, I have also declared."Speaking earlier, President Mahama claimed the two leaders had agreed on closer cooperation between the countries in terms of intelligence and anti-corruption war. has justified the 2013 purchase of two bulletproof BMW cars by the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA).She told the Federal High Court in Lagos that the cars were not bought for her personal use.The court, however, restrained anti-graft agencies from inviting her for questioning concerning the purchase.The vehicles were said to have cost N255million, an amount that sparked outrage.Justice Mohammed Yunusa barred the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) from arresting Oduah until her suit is determined.A copy of the order, made on August 26, was obtained by our correspondent yesterday.The judge also stopped the Independent Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Commission (ICPC), the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Inspector-General of Police from inviting the former minister for interrogation.Oduah, who represents Anambra North in the Senate, said there was a move by the respondents to persecute and humiliate her.She, however, explained that the vehicles were bought for the use of International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO) officials, who were in the country to inspect and certify the 22 airports being rehabilitated under her watch.According to her, the vehicles were acquired to safeguard the foreign officials lives so that they would not be bombed, attacked or abducted by the rampaging Boko Haram insurgents, who were creating havoc in the Northeast.Oduah said the bulletproof cars were especially necessary because the visit of the airport inspectors coincided with "the peak of Boko Haram terrorists' menace in the country, when the United Nations building and the headquarters of the Nigeria Police Force were bombed in Abuja.""It was thus imperative that the NCAA, which is an apex regulatory authority in the Nigerian aviation industry, operating under the SARPs of the ICAO and subject to assessment by ICAO, acquire its own armoured vehicles for the use of the ICAO officials coming for inspection and certification at the time," Oduah said.She added that the bullet-proof vehicles were captured in the 2013 budget, adding that they were duly procured in line with the Bureau of Public Procurement regulations.The ex-minister said upon her assumption of office in 2011, she "quickly realised that the quest for direct foreign investment in Nigeria could not be optimally successful without world standard airports for international and domestic air travels."Because of this, she said, she directed that the proposal of N9billion made for the rehabilitation of four airports be made to cover the 22 airports.She said the respondents would be doing the bidding of her political enemies if they were not stopped.In the papers she filed before the court, the former minister said the bid to arrest her for a crime she did not commit began as the general election approached.According to her, the House of Representatives, led by Aminu Tambuwal (now Sokoto State governor), and its Committee on Aviation, were especially out to get her.But the lawmakers' move, she said, was part of a grand plan by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to capture power by all means.The party, she said, carried out a campaign of calumny by "demonising" the most visible leaders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).Being a frontline PDP member, she also became a target, especially as she was seen as playing a crucial role towards the realisation of President Goodluck Jonathan's re-election bid.She said as part of the APC's campaign of calumny against her and others, the party's leadership commissioned some faceless organisations to write letters to the House of Representatives Committee on Aviation.Among others, she said she was falsely accused of "all manners of corrupt practices and offences in respect of my stewardship as Minister of Aviation."Oduah said was shocked by the allegations because the aviation ministry under her watch was run in the cleanest manner imaginable.The former minister said despite her selfless service to Nigeria and the posive changes made by the ministry under her  watch, including the revamping of the country's air transportation, Tambuwal still ordered her investigation based on the petitions containing "spurious and wild allegations."She said because of her electoral value and strategic politicking, she had been a target of the ploy by the APC to weaken the PDP and distract its leaders with trumped up charges.According to her, part of the APC plan was to charge PDP leaders "in a criminal trial in a Lagos State Government-controlled court."Oduah said unless the court intervened, "the APC will unleash repression against her and others and this may cause the country to recede to a one-party state, with gross adverse effects and  The suspect, who remains at large, walked into
 the restaurant, Ma's Place, Monday around 9
 a.m., ordering two shots of Jack Daniel's and
 handing the bartender the $100 bill, Puyallup

 The bartender, who only identified herself as
 Rachel to ABC affiliate station KOMO-TV in Seattle,
 said when she turned around, "he had a gun up
 and said, 'Give me all the money in the register,'
 and so I did."
 Her "insides melted" the moment she saw the
 gun, she added.
 
 The robber, who wore the wig under a Seattle
 Seahawks beanie, then asked for the restaurant's
 money bags, police said, adding that he left 50
 cents on the counter before leaving.
 "[He] told me if I called anybody then he'd be
 back," Rachel said
 
 . "He scooped all the money
 up but left me 50 cents, so I think I'll frame
 those, lucky quarters."
 Puyallup police believe the suspect is tied to two
 other armed restaurant robberies last week in
 Pierce County, one at The Buttered Biscuit in
 Sumner and another at Elmer's Restaurant in
 Tacoma, Capt. Engle said.
 "We determined it was the same man
 based on security footage," he explained.
 "He also appeared to have the same M.O.
 All three were armed robberies at
 restaurants, where he had a drink, pulled
 out a weapon and escaped with cash
 ."
 All three police departments are working
 together to find the suspect, Engle said, adding
 that they are asking for anyone who has any
 information on the suspect or can identify him to
 come forward.
 
 "He's been successful three times, so he's
 probably getting more bold and feeling
 like maybe he can get away with more,"
 he said. "So we need the public's help in
 this case to identify him and quickly
 apprehend him."

 He is one of 11 Syrian refugees believed to have
 died after they drowned trying to cross the

 island of Kos.

Landlord burns tenant’s 3-yr- old son to death in Ogun

The Ogun State police command have arrested
 65 year old landlord, Joseph Olaleye (pictured
 above) for allegedly setting ablaze the 3 year old
 son of his tenant Abdulahi Razaq at his residence
 in Olowosatide, Owode Ijako Ota in Ado Odo Otta
 LGA of the state on Monday August 30
 The accused and the deceased father were
 having an argument when the accused threw an
 ignited kerosene stove at the boy, causing severe
 injuries on the little boy who was confirmed dead
 by a hospital where he was immediately rushed
 to.
 A statement from the spokesperson of the state
 police command, Muyiwa Adejobi, says the
 accused will be charged to court soon
 "The Commissioner of Police Ogun State
 CP Abdulmajid Ali, who described the
 incident as unfortunate, has directed that
 the suspect be charged to court after
 investigation without any delay. The Police
 boss has however sympathised with the
 family of the late young boy and assured
 them, as well as Good people of Ogun
 state, of justice in the matter".

Nigeria's first test tube baby, Miss. I want to assure you (Hannatu), when you graduate, there is an automatic employment when you finish your medical school in Europe."Responding, Miss Kupchi expressed gratitude to the hospital for given her "a life".She hinted that what informed her choice to study medicine was to help save the lives of other children even though it had not been easy making it to the university.She stated that most of her mates could scale through the process, thanking God for His Grace on her life.She said by her birth, misconceptions about IVF were broken and that many more children would be born.She said: "I am very grateful to be sent off like this. It is not everybody that gets this opportunity. God has a big hand in this. God was behind me. I want God to use me get more children. I am hoping that through me God will make people see the value of having children. I will specialize in genealogy and obstetrics."I barely made it beyond the cut off mark. God helped me. I am going to try my best and make everyone proud. I am studying medicine because I want to be a doctor. I want to study it because I want God to use me to help families who suffered what my parents went through," she said.In his remarks, Mr. Hosea Kupchi, father of Hannatu, said: "We had 13 years of marriage without a child and we went through the orthodox method without any success. But along the line, my sister inlaw told me that there is one Dr. Wada that has been helping couples. That is how we came."Then challenges came again on how to let the world know that we have achieved this feat locally here in Nigeria. There are a lot of couples out there that are not ready to speak out. One, there is issue of stigmatisation, but I said to myself that nobody light the candle and put it under the bed."Also speaking, the mother who couldn't hide her joy recalled how peaceful and understanding her husband had been even in the midst of adversities.According to her, Miss Kupchi was the only result of a 30 years marriage.She said that the family decided to make the birth public to declare God's glory and also encourage other families who may have a similar challenge not to die in silence.<div>"There are men but this one stands out.
