Governor Seriake Dickson of Bayelsa State
According to The Nation, his resignation was gathered to have caused panic in the government house following fears that his action could affect the support for Dickson's re-election bid from non-indigenes.
Mba, who also serves as the chairman, board of trustees, association of non-Indigene in Bayelsa state (ANBS), played an important role in the governor's victory in 2012.
In his letter of resignation obtained by The Nation, Mba said he faced intimidation, oppression and unfair treatments in the period of over three years he served the governor.
He said his anguish was caused by Prof. Edmund Allison-Oguru, the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), whom he accused of levelling unfounded allegations against him.
Mba in the letter stated that: "My salaries and allowances were not paid for over one year. My official car, Hyndai Accent, with registration number AO 115 BY were seized. All these unfair treatments are coming from the office of the SSG.
"Despite all the mistreatment, I still worked hard for the restoration government. As a non-indigene leader, I kept mobilising non-indigenes for the second term ambition of the governor hoping that all these issues will be addressed."
Dickson's aide said that he wrote letters to the state governor explaining his issues but to no avail, adding that he did not see the need to continue working for the government .
Jonathan who was speaking at the formal declaration of Dickson to run for another four years at the Samson Siasia stadium in Yenagoa, Tuesday, September 8, opined that Dickson has performed in very key areas that has affected the state positively.
