Aliko Dangote, the richest person in Africa, has been included in the Forbes list of 100 most powerful people in the world.
The 58-year-old businessman has occupied position 71, with his
wealth estimated at $16.7 billion.
Having analyzed the names on the list, Vanguard has concluded that besides Barack Obama, Dangote is the only black person included.
Moreover, the billionaire is
considered more powerful than the Republican Party contender for the US presidency, Donald Trump, who occupies position 72.

Russian Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has topped the list. He is followed by his German counterpart Angela Merkel. The third and the fourth positions went to US President Obama and Pope Francis, respectively.

According to Bloomberg, those on the list "build companies and assemble fortunes", shape economies and spread ideas.
