Following rumours that the 2016 budget proposal submitted to the joint session of the National Assembly on December 22, 2015 is missing, President Muhammadu Buhari has denied ordering the withdrawal of the document from the National Assembly.

Buhari, who spoke through his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu, said the proposal could not be missing because hundreds of copies were delivered to the National Assembly.

Shehu noted that by tradition, once the budget has been submitted, it ceases to be the executive property.
