Landlords in Ikot Uduak, a community in Calabar Municipality Local Government Area of Cross River State State, are jittery at the moment over gully erosion threatening to swallow their houses which they laboured to build many years ago, houses at the edge of the chasm are at the mercy of the infuriating erosion.

Inspecting the progress of work at the site, the APC Senatorial Candidate for Southern Cross River State, Asuquo Ekpenyong who intervened immediately the issue was brought to his knowledge lamented that the gully had menacingly separated them from Akai Efa Timber Market Axis and they now have to take longer routes to access the other community.

"I'm glad some remedial works to arrest the gully erosion from getting closer to some houses around the environment has already began with the delivery of several trucks of sand and other materials.

"As you can see intervention is already going on with workers on the site working. Materials for Construction have also been delivered, so in a few days time the gully erosion would have been arrested"
