With four players each from Barcelona and Real
Madrid, the Spanish giants combined to put eight
players on the 2015 FIFPro World XI.
The team, announced on Monday at the Ballon
d'Or ceremony in Zurich, featured Lionel Messi,
Neymar, Dani Alves and Andres Iniesta from
Barcelona, while Cristiano Ronaldo, Marcelo,
Sergio Ramos and Luka Modric represented Real
Madrid.

Also on the team were Paul Pogba of Juventus,
Paris Saint-Germain's Thiago Silva and Bayern
Munich goalkeeper Manuel Neuer.
Messi and Ronaldo both made the XI for the ninth
time in their careers, the most appearances of
any players. Iniesta is next on that list with his
seventh appearance on the team.
Neuer made the team for the third straight
season, while Neymar, Modric and Pogba all made
their debuts.

Barcelona's Luis Suarez was again left off the list,
while Real Madid's Gareth Bale and James
Rodriguez are also left waiting for their names to
be called for the first time.

Over the last six seasons, 47 of the 66 players
selected to the World's eleven best players have
come from La Liga, 40 more than the Bundesliga,
the next most-represented league.
England's Premier League was the only one of
Europe's five major leagues not to be represented
on the team, which is made up from 45,000
ballots by professional players from countries
whose national associations are FIFPro members.
