</div><br></div><div><br></div><div>The August visit was to formally, congratulate Barr  Offiono on his emergence as the PDP candidate for Ogoja/Yala Federal Constituency, House of Representatives seat to fly the Party's flag in the 2023 General election. </div><div><br></div><div>Mr. Egar commended Goffio's efforts, humility, patience, and consistency, having being in the party for years and exercising patience to this moment to have earned the ticket to run election. </div> </div><div><br></div><div>My attention has been drawn to online reports credited to *Cross River Watch*, stating that i instructed the Director General of the Ela is Good 2023 Campaign Organization to retrieve car gifts and other items from the Bekwarra Chapter Chairman of PDP, Hon. David Obule due to the fall out of the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency PDP Primary. Let it be known that there was never any free and fair election to loss to, not one which was held filled of threats by one who was suppose to be an umpire to delegates with series of instruction and direction for their preferred aspirant. So I can safely say, elections were concluded by PDP’s state party chairman before the day. </div><div><br></div><div>Members of the general public are advised to kindly disregard such rumours as regards retrieving vehicle gifts as i never gave out any instruction of such.</div><div><br></div><div>Any supporter engaging in such act is doing so in his/her own volition without my backing. Everyone who knows me, knows I give out of free will. Weather we run election or not, in fact I still intend to give out more cars to supporters and those who stood with me. Ela is good, and always will remain good. </div><div><br></div><div>I have since moved on and left all those who betrayed my trust to their fate,  although will not so much blame them, as there were under serious threats by some party leaders. </div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I want to firstly, greet my Supporters, party faithfuls and believers of Justice.</div><div><br></div><div>The turn out of the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), primary which i fully participated in with high hopes, enthusiasm and  the backing of my teeming supporters across the Federal Constituency and beyond, has in no small way been disappointing to say the least.</div><div><br></div><div>As a loyal and committed party man, years and funds have been invested by myself into ensuring that the Party remains visible in the Federal constituency long before the return of some elements like Vena Ukem into the party.</div><div><br></div><div>We hoped and wished for a transparent process, but the State Chairman who had sworn never to witness my emergence as the party’s flagbearer, regardless of his knowledge of my capacity to deliver the election for PDP in 2023 fought tooth and nail against my ambition.</div><div><br></div><div>Barr. Vena Ikem, before and after the unfortunate incident at Obudu LGA where their plans to intimidate my delegates who were larger in number than that of his preferred aspirant, hurriedly hatched another series of plans to further ensure his choice emerges.</div><div><br></div><div>On the eve of the Primary in Calabar, he(Vena Ikem), called delegates and ward chairmen, loyal to me and threatened them to vote for his preferred choice or risk receiving their stipends that will be given by one of the governorship aspirants.</div><div><br></div><div>He went further to through his hatchet men, and Returning Officer for the said election, to mutilate the ballot papers by way of numbering them and assigning a specific number to each delegate in other to monitor their voting pattern in flagrant disregard for INEC guidelines.</div><div><br></div><div>Vena Ikem, in active connivance with Charles Eneji, Sen. Jarigbe’s liason Officer for Bekwarra, instructed delegates to vote for their preferred aspirant under the pretest of him being Jarigbe’s choice.</div><div><br></div><div>Unfortunately, the party in Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency is heading to the rocks under the current leadership through its numerous wrong decisions in the State House of Assembly(Obudu) and the actions of the State Chairman in the Federal constituency primary.</div><div><br></div><div>I want to specially thank His Excellency, Sen. Liyel Imoke, for the leadership role he has played over the years to ensure that PDP remains a relevant entity. </div><div><br></div><div>I also want to specially commend the 13 delegates that voted for me regardless of the intimidation, you're the true beacons of hope for our democracy. To The leader of Obanlikwu, Frank Adah, I must express with heavy heart the betrayal at the moment I needed you pepppe the most. I stood all out to protect you people and ended lots of enemies who worked against me in the process. </div><div><br></div><div>THE FUTURE</div><div><br></div><div>The events of Yesterday, has sent me into deep thoughts and I've resolved to take time out to ponder on my next political move.</div><div><br></div><div>However, after consultation with members of my team, we have decided that</div><div><br></div><div>1- We will not remain in a Party where imposition, intimidation, political high handedness and poor leadership is the order of the day, especially in the character of Vena Ikem. An emperor style of being the only person who decides and never recognizes any leader in the federal constituency or state. </div><div><br></div><div>3- We call on members of the Ela is Good Movement, to remain calm and prepare to join us as we take a new direction to where we are sure of a brighter future for all. Further direction will be given in the light to move to where we can actually express ourselves politically. </div><div><br></div><div>I(Ela Ushie), cannot remain in a party that doesn't afford me the opportunity to express myself as a stakeholder, a party that the state Chairman takes sides openly against anyone he doesn't like instead of unifying members of the party regardless of interest.</div><div><br></div><div>The state Chairman must have had his way in the party but the General election is the real deal. </div><br></div><div><br></div><div>I want to firstly, greet my Supporters, party faithfuls and believers of Justice.</div><div><br></div><div>The turn out of the Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency, Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), primary which i fully participated in with high hopes, enthusiasm and  the backing of my teeming supporters across the Federal Constituency and beyond, has in no small way been disappointing to say the least.</div><div><br></div><div>As a loyal and committed party man, years and funds have been invested by myself into ensuring that the Party remains visible in the Federal constituency long before the return of some elements like Vena Ukem into the party.</div><div><br></div><div>We hoped and wished for a transparent process, but the State Chairman who had sworn never to witness my emergence as the party’s flagbearer, regardless of his knowledge of my capacity to deliver the election for PDP in 2023 fought tooth and nail against my ambition.</div><div><br></div><div>Barr. Vena Ikem, before and after the unfortunate incident at Obudu LGA where their plans to intimidate my delegates who were larger in number than that of his preferred aspirant, hurriedly hatched another series of plans to further ensure his choice emerges.</div><div><br></div><div>On the eve of the Primary in Calabar, he(Vena Ikem), called delegates and ward chairmen, loyal to me and threatened them to vote for his preferred choice or risk receiving their stipends that will be given by one of the governorship aspirants.</div><div><br></div><div>He went further to through his hatchet men, and Returning Officer for the said election, to mutilate the ballot papers by way of numbering them and assigning a specific number to each delegate in other to monitor their voting pattern in flagrant disregard for INEC guidelines.</div><div><br></div><div>Vena Ikem, in active connivance with Charles Eneji, Sen. Jarigbe’s liason Officer for Bekwarra, instructed delegates to vote for their preferred aspirant under the pretest of him being Jarigbe’s choice.</div><div><br></div><div>Unfortunately, the party in Obudu/Obanliku/Bekwarra Federal Constituency is heading to the rocks under the current leadership through its numerous wrong decisions in the State House of Assembly(Obudu) and the actions of the State Chairman in the Federal constituency primary.</div><div><br></div><div>I want to specially thank His Excellency, Sen. Liyel Imoke, for the leadership role he has played over the years to ensure that PDP remains a relevant entity. </div><div><br></div><div>I also want to specially commend the 13 delegates that voted for me regardless of the intimidation, you're the true beacons of hope for our democracy. To The leader of Obanlikwu, Frank Adah, I must express with heavy heart the betrayal at the moment I needed you pepppe the most. One of The guest Artists for the event, OGA SABINUS, after confirming his availability for the event, received part payment of N1 Million from the Organizer after accepting to receive his balance of N1 Million on or before the show ends. </div><div><br></div><div>2. OGA SABINUS, without any reason or prior notice to the Organizers, on the day of the show (Sunday), after flights and logistics arrangements had been made, refused to turn up for the event and HAS REFUSED TO MAKE ANY REFUND instead he has resolved to spreading Fake news to save his head.</div><div><br></div><div>3. The delay which occured on the day of the event which led to the truncating of the event, was due to a disagreement with the SOUND ENGINEER (ROCK SOUND) whose inititial aggreement was N100,000 (as a partner/sponsor).</div><div><br></div><div>4. Initial deposit of N50,000 was made to ROCK SOUND about 2 Months before the slated date of the event to the above initial aggreement. And to balance N50,000 during the course of the event.</div><div><br></div><div>5. Not until Tuesday, 17th May 2022 (5days to the event), We got a message from ROCK SOUND stating his sudden change to initial aggreement balance of N50,000  to N150,000 making it N200,000 against our initial aggreement.</div><div><br></div><div>6. Because it was already 5days to the event, we did’nt have any option but to agree to the change, which we already told him it’s out of budget. We paid him N50,000 balance of the Initial agreement of N100,000 before the event and pleaded with him to start up the event and we promised to pay him while the event was going on. He Insisted that  his full payment must be made before anything happens. At  the process of the event we were able to pay him extra N50,000 making it a total of N150,000 and we still pleaded he open the sound for the event to start while we balance him as the event goes on but he still stood his grounds for his balance at about 9:38pm over an event that was slated for 4pm. We made effort in paying another N26,000 to him, making it Total sum of N176,000 to balance N24,000 while the event is going on but he still said NO (at about 9:46pm).</div><div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;">

</div><br></div><div><br></div><div>Calabar, the Cross River State's capital in the southern part of of Nigeria, was without doubt the cleanest state capital and a reference point for almost all the states in Nigeria.</div><div><br></div><div>Under the administration of His Excellency, Gov. Donald Duke, Calabar maintained a clean and green status much to the admiration of tourists and citizens.</div><div><br></div><div>The clean and green status was taken seriously to the point that it was in the subconscious of residents and visitors of the state capital because of the zero tolerance and strict compliance to laws on non littering and proper disposal of refuse in the waste bins which were placed at strategic locations within Calabar.</div><div><br></div><div>It was so serious that the entire city of Calabar was always swept and refuse were cleared from the city before 7am. Trees and grasses were also taken care of too. Also buildings along the high ways and municipal areas were always painted and kept sparkling, failure to adheare to this strict codes of conduct, results to owners of such buildings paying huge fines.</div><div><br></div><div>Residents of Calabar and citizens of Cross River state always talked about how clean their state capital was and were never comfortable when they visit other states and see the way they handle the environment with litering of refuse and poor handling of dump sites.</div><div><br></div><div>Sadly, just like government policies and lack of continuity, gradually the level of handling of the clean and green status of Calabar after the administration of Gov. Donald Duke by the Sen. Liyel Imoke, led administration started dwindling as contractors handling the jobs were either changed or owed for the job.</div><div><br></div><div>The situation got to an administration in 2014 due to the political activities which made the government to focus her attention on producing a successor in the person of Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, with neglect on the negative impact this had on the health of residents and citizens of Calabar.</div><div><br></div><div>Fast forward to 2015 after the inauguration of the Sen. Prof. Ben Ayade, led administration. The government went into action by swiftly clearing all refuse within the city thereby restoring fresh air in the city.</div><div><br></div><div>Now to the dismay of residents and citizens, the city of Calabar has become an eye sore with every street in Calabar litered with heaps of refuse with zero concern from government and relevant agencies for the evacuation of the refuse and restoration of the lost glory of the state.</div><div><br></div><div>Most commentators are pointing at the Governor but I wish to ask if the local government Chaiman/Lady of the two LGAs that make up Calabar can't arrange for the evacuation of this refuse from their various LGAs and keep it neat for residents and visitors?.</div><div><br></div><div>Mind you, Cross River state is still considered one of the top tourism hubs in Nigeria but the current state of the city is not befitting of such status and all stakeholders involved must spare time from their involvement in politics and salvage residents of this pending health outbreak due to the damages been done by the constant neglect of these heap loads of refuse.</div><div><br></div><div>I urge everyone to take this situation seriously and posterity will be pleased with everyone that will lend a voice and also take physical action to salvage the state of this mess.</div>
